XPTT, the Push To Talk (PTT) solution over LTE

Now almost all companies are resuming their daily work after the holidays and we will accompany you in this return by talking about our flagship product: XPTT.

XPTT is the Push To Talk (PTT) platform on the Internet that can optimize your service and the movements of your operators, guaranteeing you a real-time communication with each of your resources located in the territory.

XPTT is the Push To Talk solution for business, consisting of a web portal and a mobile application for Android and iOS that can be installed in each worker’s smartphone.

XPTT: the mobile application

The XPTT application allows you to turn your phone (and your PC) into a PTT system on the Internet and use it as a walkie-talkie.

The starting idea was just this: bring the Push To Talk (PTT) functionality to your smartphone.

The main function of XPTT is therefore the transmission and reception of audio and about this we have the following characteristics:

  • Group PTT;
  • possibility to listen to the audio sent and received at any time;
  • private PTT call (1To1);
  • Full Duplex call;
  • possibility of listening, at any time, to calls made and received;
  • possibility of interrupting the transmission of a user who has a lower priority.

Clearly a smartphone offers much more possibilities for a walkie-talkie andXPTTtakes advantage of all of them.

XPTT in fact, brings together the basic functionality of “talking” with much more.

For example, there is the “Camera” feature that allows you to send photos to a group or to a single user while maintaining the ability to speak and listen, in real time, to the audio transmitted.

There is the “Chat” feature that allows you to send (and receive) messages to the group or a single user. In addition, for each sent and received message are indicated the information of delivery and reading: time, GPS position of sender and recipient, GPS accuracy, battery level of the sender and recipient phone and possible danger status of the user.

Each user, therefore, is geolocated in real time and is also visible in the “Map” section.

In addition to these features there are also “Time Tracking” and “Man Down”.

“Time Tracking” is the feature that allows you to know the duration of a user’s work session and the positions where he was when he started and ended the shift.

“Man Down”, instead, is the service developed for the users who are in isolated locations and they carry out dangerous jobs. The “Man Down” features, in fact, sends an alarm signal if it detects anomalies in the user’s posture.It is a feature characterized by three types of alarm: manual, inclination and movement.

XPTT: the web portal

As anticipated, the XPTT platform also consists of a web portal, developed and built for supervision and monitoring by the administrator.

It can be said that the web portal consists of two main parts: the management part and the part of interaction with the team, consisting of the WebApp.

From the web portal you can create groups and users, assign them the permissions, the priority level and the functionalities they can access. Furthermore, you can configure the activated services (eg “Man Down”) and see the positions where users was when they started and ended the shift and the durations of work session. This data can be exported in three formats: excel, pdf, csv.

The WebApp has all the functionality of the mobile application that we have described above. In addition to these, through the WebApp you can share any type of file with all users of the team who can consult them from the dedicated section.

In real time the administrator can view detailed information of each user and change any configuration and permission.

TheXPTT web portal allows you to manage your team directly from your browser and you don’t need to install any application on your computer.

TheXPTT service can be provided in two ways: On Premise and Cloud.
